We are pleased to announce the 4th Annual Upper Midwest Regional Pediatric Conference, developed in affiliation with Children's Hospital & Medical Center, Omaha, NE, Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, Prairie Pediatrics & Adolescent Clinic, P.C., Siouxland Medical Education Foundation, and St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. The conference is scheduled for Thursday October 27th and Friday October 28th, 2011 at the Marina Inn & Conference Center in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
The UMRPC is a two-day series of seminars focusing on the continuum of care for infants and children with a variety of common medical problems. The steering committee has designed the conference schedule to provide lectures and discussion forums on a variety of highly relevant topics ranging from Tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy, indications for surgery, complications of ENT surgeries, antibiotic stewardship, pediatric airway challenges , chronic cough, neonatal sepsis, drowning prevention, intestinal rehabilitation and liver and small bowel transplant, the use of Probiotics in the hospitalized pediatric patient, cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death in children, advances in non traditional cardiac surgery , murmurs and other reasons to refer to pediatric cardiology and management of the diabetic child.
New, for 2011 we will offer a series of training workshops to include moderate sedation, emergency vascular access, mock codes and emergencies, peripheral IV access and advanced life support course updates.
At the end of the conference, participants will have a better understanding of the medical topics and be more effective in their health care delivery for sick infants and children.
